In System Preferences->Internet Accounts-> I do have Exchange active for reminders, Notes, and Calendars. I have looked again in the communities and noticed dissimilar issues with soagent having something to do with Contacts->Preferences->_too many accounts syncing_ but I disabled all the accounts but for iCloud. I'm running it again to save one for this post (here's hoping, but I have to have messages open to actually catch the culprit, right?). Then, I was logged off my machine, lost the etrecheck report. In fact, I ran an Etre check prior to posting (in prep), and while it was running my machine asked me to forcequit something due to memory pressure. I'm going to post an etrecheck (also found that on this forum to have been requested in another similar topic, but the OP didn't do it). I'm not sure what to do next, but I'd like to reclaim my message app and return it to normal function without burning up my macbook. I can't follow the first response in this thread, the second involves spell check (which hasn't seemed to have been my problem) and the last involves keyboard shortcuts and a folder I don't seem to have (~/Library/Containers//Data/Library/Preferences)īug - Messages brings macOS to its knees with soagent and callservicesd - Ask Different On a google search, I turned up a few results that I did not feel comfortable trying: Having it running does cause me to run out of memory and need to select things to force quit. I keep messages closed, but I would like to use it on my computer to respond to people. I'll quit messages, then see the processes both shift down and the fan will eventually turn off also. When I click to start message (from it having been quit), here's what happens:Īccording to activity monitor, message and soagent rev up past 200% (each often dragging > 100% each, but right now soagent is at 183 and messages is at 90%). I am having a problem, now for weeks, where soagent and messages take over my computer.
